"hart and sole"? Robbie Robertson must be the "heart and soul" then.

I've read that Robbie and Martin Scorcese overdubbed it extensively over a drug-induced period after the show, and gave Robbie a little more of the spotlight, but that's the only explanation I've seen so far.

Anyone know this was overdubbed so much?

I was 14 when the band split up...I had to grow up to notice how handsome Levon, Robbie and Rick were...they just looked like 'old guys' to me then. Perspective is everything. :)

I saw The Band many times and had the honor of working at The Last Waltz. While Levon does have an incredible amount of heart and soul, The Band's heart beat as one. They were, and are all outstanding musicians. I worked at a lot of great shows at Winterland, but there never was one before, or after that affected me like this one. It truly touched my soul. Still does. I miss them more than The Dead.
