sorry, but the nouns licence (British) and license (US) have the same meaning. The verb "to license" is spelt the same in British and American English. I'm not usually this nitpicky, but I don't like being "put on the right track" when I was on it all along ;-) btw, I trust Collins and Webster more than Wikipedia...

License and Licence are two different things. Search Wikipedia for it.
