I have not had a chance to fish for sturgeon. But let me ask, being a bottom feeder with downward sucking mouth, do Sturgeon have the tendancy to inhale the hook? And get hooked in the gut??

i caught a 4 footer on a size 8 hook. Smallest hook they make. fucking thing bent the hook 3 feet from shore. GOod fight though, 45 minutes on a small rod. british columbia,best sturgeon fishing in the world.

The river is located in southern BC. 1 hour east of vancouver. It is a catch and release fishery.

I think the biggest one caught on the Fraser was 11ft long and weighed over 1000lbs with a girth of 56''. It took 6 and a half hours to reel in. This was all over the front page of the newspaper.
