Gaze Interaction for People with ALS/MND

A video about an invited talk and demonstration of gaze communication at the ALS/MND symposium, Yokohama, Dec. 2006. COGAIN (COmuunication by GAze INteraction) is a network of excellence, funded by the 6th IST EU framework program. During the workshop, 400 Japanese communication specialists saw how gaze interaction has improved the quality of life for people with ALS, and they got a chance to test the latest Japanese version of GazeTalk, a communication system designed for gaze control. More than 250 copies of the system was picked up by the participants. Several people with ALS got a chance to try gaze interaction for the first time. Gaze communication system may be downloaded for free at www.cogain.org. This website also links to companies that sell gaze tracking hardware.
