Back

Im sorry if it was hard to read, im not used to making videos, this is my second, but this is what it said. I hope you enjoyed this and Jazakiallah Khair! Five Categories of those who Perform Salah By Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah (rahimahullah) The First: One who is negligent and does dhulm to himself. He is careless in performing wudu, is negligent about the timings of Salah, its pillars and its boundaries. In other words, he performs Salah but does not gain anything from it. He is a Mufrit. The Second: One who preserves its appointed time periods, its boundaries, its pillars and wudu. However, he does not strive to guard himself against the whisperings of Shaytaan, and his heart is preoccupied with these whisperings and thoughts during Salah, thus, he is not completely inclined towards the Salah. The Third: One who preserves its appointed time periods, its pillars, boundaries and wudu, and also strives to guard himself against the whisperings and distracting thoughts that overcome him during Salah. He is constantly on guard against his enemy, the Shaytaan, in order to prevent him from stealing from his prayer. Such a worshipper is a Mujahid who is constantly striving to guard his Salah. The Fourth: One who, when he stands for prayer, perfects its rights, its pillars and its boundaries and guards them with his heart with utmost devotion in order to prevent anything of his Salah being lost. He devotes his attention, energy and potential to perform his Salah with concentration and in the most perfect and complete way. His heart is occupied with the prayer and worshipping his Sublime Rabb with it. The Fifth: One who performs the prayer like the previous worshipper, but in addition has presented his heart to his Rabb. He is fully conscious of Allah, in utmost obedience out of love and reverence for Him, and looks at his Rabb with his heart, as if he sees and witnesses Him. This is the degree of Ehsaan. All distracting thoughts and whisperings fade away and the veil between him and his Rabb is removed. The difference between this person in his prayer and others, is greater and better than all that is between the heavens and the earth. He is fully occupied and overjoyed with his Rabb in his Salah. The first category is punished, the second is held accountable, the third is pardoned, the fourth is rewarded and the fifth is brought close to his Lord, because he gains a portion of what made the prayer a delight to him. For whoever is delighted with his prayer in the life of this world, will be delighted by being close to his Lord in the Hereafter as well as being delighted with his Lord in this life, and whoever is delighted with Allaah, everything would be delighted with him, and whoever is not delighted with Allaah the Elevated, his soul will be torn apart for the life of this world in loss. It is narrated that when a servant stands for prayer, Allaah the Glorified says; "Remove the veil.", and if the servant turns away He says: "Replace it." This 'turning away' has been explained as the turning of the heart away from Allaah the All-Mighty to other than Him. So if the worshipper turns away, the veil is replaced between him and his Lord and Shaytaan enters and presents worldly affairs to him. But if he turns with his heart to Allaah and does not turn away, Shaytaan will not be able to come between Allaah and that heart. He only enters if the veil is replaced. If the worshipper returns to Allaah the Elevated with his heart, Shaytaan runs away, and if he turns away, Shaytaan returns. Such is his state with his enemy in prayer.
