Israel, Turkey & US Navies Participate in Trilateral Search

A two day joint naval exercise conducted by Israel, Turkey and the United States this week marked the ninth year that the three nations have held joint rescue maneuvers. Dubbed Reliant Mermaid, the trilateral humanitarian search and rescue (SAR) exercise involving naval ships and aircraft  was launched Tuesday in international waters off the coast of Israel in the Mediterranean Sea.  The exercise focused on strengthening coordination in potential maritime and humanitarian emergencies.08/21/08
